Governor Kulongoski names Bradbury as Oregon representative on power council

Bill Bradbury

Former Oregon Secretary of State Bill Bradbury has been appointed to the Northwest Power and Conservation Council.

Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski announced this week that Bradbury will become a member of the regional council on October 1st, replacing Melinda Eden, who has served two terms as an Oregon representative.

The Portland-based council was created by the federal Northwest Power and Conservation Act in 1980 to balance environmental protection with energy development.

The council has two representatives each from Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Montana who develop and maintain a regional power plan along with a fish and wildlife conservation program.

Kulongoski says Bradbury will bring an extensive knowledge of climate and energy issues to the council at a critical time. (AP)
