New hospital head is former Idaho Congressional candidate

Vaughn Ward

Former U.S. House hopeful Vaughn Ward has been appointed CEO of a northern Idaho hospital.

Ward, a Republican who lost to tea party favorite Raul Labrador in the Idaho primary three months ago, will start his new job at Northwest Specialty Hospital in Post Falls on Sept. 27.

Ward told the Coeur d’Alene Press he and his family are excited to take this next step.

Ward will become the fourth CEO to run the seven-year-old hospital since 2005, beating out more than 30 other candidates for the position.

The former congressional candidate says his time on the campaign trail allowed him to make connections, which helped lead to the opportunity in northern Idaho. (AP)
