College of Idaho gets grant for new laboratories

The National Science Foundation has awarded the College of Idaho a $1.3 million grant so the school can improve seven biology and chemistry research laboratories.

College President Marvin Henberg says Idaho U.S. Representative Walt Minnick’s office assisted the school during the final stages of the grant’s approval.

C of I officials say much of the research to be conducted in the new labs will focus on issues that affect the intermountain West, including research on toxins in the environment and their effects on human health.  (AP)
