Washington man hospitalized after motorcycles collide near Lenore

A Sunnyside, Wash., man was taken to the hospital after his motorcycle collided with another bike Saturday afternoon near Lenore.

According to the Idaho State Police, Rafael Garcia, 66, was riding a 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on U.S. Highway 12 about 2 miles west of Lenore, as was Terry Lesser, 33, of Wapato, Wash., on a 2007 Harley. Lesser signaled for a right turn into the Thunderbird Smoke Shop, but Garcia did not see the signal and sideswiped Lesser’s motorcycle.

Garcia was taken to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, where he was evaluated in the emergency room before being transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Lesser was not injured and both riders were wearing helmets.
