Polls are open Thursday until 9 p.m. for the election to decide whether to fund construction of a new Lewiston High School with a 25-year $52 million bond.
If approved, the cost to property owners would be $1.36 per $1,000 of assessed value.
Lewiston School District patrons can cast their ballots at Centennial, McGhee, McSorley, Orchards, Webster, or Whitman elementary schools, as well as Jenifer Junior High.
Voters who have lived in the district for at least 30 days can register at the polls. If a person’s photo identification has a former address on it, a utility bill or some other proof of residency will be required.
Election judges will be at each polling station to answer questions and oversee the process.
The ballots will be counted after the polls close at 9 p.m., and it could take a few hours after that before a final tally is known.
