Former Lewis-Clark State standout Beau Mills drove in two runs in helping Columbus beat Omaha Tuesday night in the Triple-A National Championship game in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The left-handed hitting first baseman had an RBI single and a solo homerun in the 8-3 victory giving Columbus its second consecutive national championship.
Mills starred at LC during the 2007 season and set the NAIA record by belting 38 homeruns in leading the program to a 15th national championship.
Mills was the 13th overall selection in the 2007 Amateur Baseball Draft by the Cleveland Indians.
