WSU student charged in Pullman stabbing

A Washington State University student faces felony charges following a domestic argument and stabbing early Sunday morning in Pullman.

Pullman police say 20-year-old Madison Heersink was arrested on charges of first-degree burglary and second-degree assault for allegedly stabbing a 22-year-old man in the chest with a folding knife.

The incident happened at a home in the 400 block of Howard Street shortly before 1:30 a.m. The man, whose name was not released, suffered a puncture wound to his chest and a cut on his elbow, but no life-threatening injuries.

Heersink was arrested without incident and taken to the Whitman County Jail.
