A drunk driver crashed his car into a Lewiston church late Monday night.
According to the Lewiston Police Department, 75-year-old Marvin Hale was driving westbound on Cedar Avenue in a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass at about 10:40 p.m. when he crossed all lanes of Thain Road, and then left the roadway, colliding with the Grace Pentacostal Church at 532 Thain. The car went through the front of the building and stopped inside.
Hale was taken by ambulance to St Joseph Regional Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. He was charged with driving under the influence.
The incident, which caused over $10,000 in damage to the vehicle and church, remains under investigation.
