No charges will be brought in the fatal traffic accident last month where a man in a wheelchair collided with a pickup truck in Lewiston.
The vehicle’s driver, 74-year-old Lee Baker, of Lewiston, struck 34-year-old Jacob Vernon, of Clarkston, during the evening of Dec. 13 on Fifth Street near its intersection with Park Avenue. Vernon died soon after the accident.
Lewiston Police on Thursday said that following an investigation by the LPD and a review of evidence and witness statements by the Lewiston city attorney and Nez Perce County prosecutor’s office, there was agreement that no charges were justified against Baker.
