A suspect has been arrested in connection to the alleged armed robbery at Applebee’s Restaurant on Lewiston’s Thain Road Tuesday night.
According to the Lewiston Police Department, 29-year-old Charles Walters was taken into custody Wednesday morning after he and a friend stopped by the police station on an unrelated issue.
Authorities say the robbery was reported Tuesday at around 9 p.m. after employees were confronted by a male subject wearing a hooded sweatshirt, a bandana wrapped around his lower face, and sunglasses, waiving a handgun. He entered the office and took less than $500 before fleeing.
Walters was booked on a charge of first degree robbery and is being held in the Nez Perce County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
