A new report shows that Idaho’s tax climate has shown slight improvement.
The Idaho Statesman reports that, according to the Tax Foundation’s annual state rankings, Idaho moved up a spot to No. 21 in 2012, placing it in the middle of the pack.
However, regionally Idaho would have to make major changes to catch up with its neighbors. Wyoming is ranked the top-ranked state for tax climate, while Nevada is No. 3, Washington is No. 7, Montana is No. 8, Utah is No. 10 and Oregon, 13th.
The rankings come out as Idaho lawmakers consider Gov. Butch Otter’s call for a tax cut aimed at helping the state’s business climate. (Idaho Statesman)
