The Lewis-Clark State College baseball team opens the 2012 season this week on the road in Phoenix, Arizona.
The pre-season 11th-ranked Warriors are taking part in the five-team Arizona Desert Classic.
Coming off a 38-17 season a year ago, LC will meet fellow NAIA members Point Loma Nazarene of California, Wayland Baptist of Texas, Fresno Pacific and in-state rival College of Idaho in the round robin tournament.
Its the first time since 2002 that the Warriors have opened a season on the road.
LC will meet Point Loma Thursday afternoon at 2pm PST. The Warriors will then play Wayland Baptist Friday morning at 10:30am PST and will wrap-up tournament play with a Saturday double-header against the College of Idaho at 10:30am PST and a 2pm PST matchup with Fresno Pacific.
