The Lewis-Clark State women’s basketball team used a 40 point second half in cruising past the University of Great Falls Thursday night at the Activity Center 69-52.
Senior guard Jasmine Stohr led all scorers with 22 points and senior post Krisi Voshell added a double-double with 14 points, 11 rebounds and six blocked shots in the win.
Defensively, LC turned 17 turnovers into 16 points and held the Argonauts to 26 percent shooting from the field. The 13th-ranked Warriors improve to 24-4 overall and 10-3 in Frontier Conference play.
Meanwhile, the LC men couldn’t overcome 18 turnovers in falling to the Argos 75-59.
Junior forward P.J. Bolte led the Warriors with game highs of 15 points and 10 rebounds.
LC outrebounded Great Falls 40 to 23, including 20 offensive rebounds, but shot just 36.8 percent from the floor. Conversely, Great Falls hit on on 55.6 percent of its shots from the field and scored 28 points off turnovers.
LC falls to 16-10 overall and 5-8 in Frontier Conference play. Great Falls improves to 19-9 overall and 7-6 in league play.
Both LC teams will wrap-up the regular season at home Saturday against Montana State-Northern. The games will serve as Senior Night for four women’s players and three men.
