AUDIO: Gas prices well above last year but relief may be coming

Motorists looking for even small victories at the pump may have noticed gas prices have been a little steadier in the past two weeks, slowing down from a frenetic pace that defined February and March across the country.

According to the American Automobile Association’s Daily Fuel Gage Report, the US average price of $3.92 is within a penny or two of where it has been the past two weeks, but is still 13 cents higher than a year ago.

Dave Carlson with the Idaho Chapter of AAA says while the spring run-up in prices arrived a month or so earlier this year – there may be some relief on the horizon.

Gas prices vary widely across the state with motorists in Idaho Falls paying the lowest average price at $3.63 while Lewiston has the state’s highest average price at $3.91.
