Emergency crews were called to an incident at the World Jet Boat Championship on the Snake River near Heller Bar.
Race officials confirmed there was an on-the-water accident and at least one racer was placed into an ambulance to be transported to a hospital. Officials described the accident as one in which a boat hit a wave, became airborne and then slammed back down on the water.
The incident remains under investigation.
