A 55-year-old Moscow man was arrested Monday for allegedly raping a female acquaintance Monday night.
Dennis McLean was booked into the Latah County jail after the results of testing at Gritman Medical Center supported the woman’s allegation that he attacked and raped her.
Neighbors at McLean’s trailer court in the 700 block of Brent Drive called 911 at 8:10 p.m. Sunday to report a domestic dispute and a possible sexual assault after they observed McLean allegedly holding the woman down and striking her. Responding officers found the woman with minor injuries, and she was treated at the hospital and released.
McLean has had prior violent run-ins with Moscow police, so officers secured a no-knock search warrant for his residence. Authorities say McLean did not respond to officers’ requests at 3 a.m. and broke down the door. He was taken into custody without further incident.
McLean was also transported to the hospital to be tested for evidence supporting a rape charge and treatment of minor injuries.
