UI student charged with threatening suite-mate with knife

A 20-year-old University of Idaho sophomore faces an aggravated assault charge after his suite-mate reported he was threatened with a kitchen knife.

Latah County prosecutors allege Stephen Carras of Renton, Washington, placed the knife against the neck of another student on April 16th and threatened to kill him. Court records allege Carras also threatened to carve up the student. Police arrested Carras after he told them he threatened the other student as a joke.

Carras is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 10. (AP)
