Following the completion of the opening round national tournaments across the nation, the field is set for the 2012 Avista NAIA World Series.
Oklahoma City defeated Sterling of Kansas 3-0 in the Oklahoma City Bracket. Lee of Tennessee beat Missouri Baptist 8-5 in the Cleveland, Tennessee Bracket. South Carolina – Beaufort defeated St. Thomas of Florida 11-2 in the Hardee, South Carolina Bracket. And the College of Idaho won on a walk-off fielder’s choice in the bottom of the 9th to upset Azusa Pacific 7-6 in the Azusa, California.
Those four teams will join Louisiana State-Shreveport, Embry-Riddle of Florida, Point Park of Pennsylvania, Tennessee Wesleyan, Rogers State of Oklahoma and Lewis-Clark State for the 10-team double-elimination World Series beginning May 25th at Harris Field in Lewiston.
