Bomb squad returns to Lewiston property to dispose of explosive

For the second time in as many weeks, a Spokane bomb squad was called to a Lewiston property to dispose of explosives.

Lewiston Police say the substance, described as Tovex water gel, was found Thursday afternoon as crews were cleaning up the property at 2415 16th Avenue.  The Tovex is believed to be several years old and it is not believed to be a danger to the public, nor is there a threat of it exploding.

Thursday’s find comes a week after a May 15 discovery of 90 pounds of dynamite inside a van on the property.  The dynamite also had to be disposed of by the Spokane-based bomb squad.
