Two teenage girls from Lewiston were hospitalized following a single vehicle accident in Nez Perce County.
The county sheriff’s office says the two girls, ages 16 and 17, were among a group of six teenagers in the 2004 Ford F-150 pickup that veered off McCormack Ridge Road at about 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
Investigators say the pickup failed to make a turn on the gravel road, because the driver was going too fast for conditions, and headed about 30 feet down a steep bank before striking the tree.
Most of the teens were wearing their seat belts, and no one was ejected.
