A Lewiston man is in custody after allegedly using a knife to kidnap two men and a 6-year-old boy Saturday in the Cavendish area west of Orofino.
According to the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office, 56-year-old Roger Ehler allegedly held the boy at knifepoint and forced him and the two men into a minivan, demanding a ride to Orofino. The vehicle was stopped on Clover Drive by law enforcement officers, and after a brief stand-off, Ehler was taken into custody. No one was injured in the incident.
Ehler was taken to the Clearwater County Jail and has been charged with three counts of kidnapping, with other charges pending.
