Two Clarkston residents face felony charges for allegedly shoplifting items from six Lewiston stores earlier this week.
25-year-old Christopher Perini was charged with grand theft and a 16-year-old boy was charged with being a principal to a criminal episode.
Lewiston police say the teenager would engage a clerk while Perini would pick up items. The suspects went to Pier One, T J Maxx, Ross, Sally Beauty Supply, Petco and SalonCentric.
A store clerk became suspicious and called the police department with a description of a vehicle. The pair were stopped soon after and various items were found in the car, but no sales receipts. Idaho law says if three or more incidents such as the alleged thefts can be connected, the charge becomes a felony.
The juvenile was charged with having a concealed weapon for allegedly having brass knuckles in his pocket. He was released to the custody of a parent, while Perini is being held at the Nez Perce County Jail.
