A Lewiston soldier was killed in Afghanistan August 7th while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
According the the Department of Defense, 22-year-old Army Specialist Ethan Martin died of wounds suffered when he encountered enemy small-arms fire in Koragay, Afghanistan.
Martin was assigned to 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division out of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska.
The Defense Department release lists Martin’s home of record as Lewiston, though according to his family, the vast majority of his life was spent in the north Idaho town of Bonners Ferry.
