A Lewiston teenager was killed Wednesday in an all-terrain vehicle accident at the St. Anthony Sand Dunes in Fremont County.
The victim was identified as 13-year-old Hunter Christensen.
According to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, Christensen was on an ATV outing with other members of his family when the accident occurred. He was riding in an area just north of the Idaho Dunes, between Egin Lake and Sand Hills Resort, when he flipped the four-wheeler as he came over the top of a dune and landed in the rocks at the bottom.
The boy was wearing a helmet.
The teenager’s death was the third fatal accident at the dunes since April.
