Five full days of negotiations have not yet resulted in a resolution on a contract between the Clarkston School District and the union representing the district’s classified staff.
The contract expired Aug. 31, and staff are currently working under the conditions of their previous contract until an agreement is reached.
Facing an approximately $300,000 shortfall in federal Title 1 funding, the district reduced Title 1 instruction by 24.5 hours per day at Highland and Parkway elementary schools, which equates to two six-hour positions at each school.
The next negotiation session between the district and Clarkston Classified Association members is scheduled for Monday.
