Calif State University system picks former UI prez White as new chancellor

The California State University system has selected a former University of Idaho president as the new chancellor to lead the nation’s largest collection of four-year colleges.

Timothy White, currently the chancellor of the University of California, Riverside, will take charge of the 23-campus system. The 63-year-old White will replace Charles Reed, who is retiring after 14 years. White is expected to start the job at the end of December and will receive an annual salary of $421,500, the same as Reed.

White served as the eighth chancellor of UC Riverside since 2008, just after leaving UI.  (AP)
