FedEx Ground has announced plans to locate a package distribution center in north Lewiston.
The company hopes to occupy a 37,000-square-foot building at the Harry Wall Industrial Park, near EKO Compost and the Nez Perce County Jail. The building will be finished in 2013.
Port Commissioners were scheduled to vote Wednesday on whether to sell seven acres for nearly $731,000 to West Moreland Company, a site selection firm based in Atlanta.
FedEx Ground officials say the company will close its 18,000-square-foot Clarkston location once the new center is ready.
The Lewiston project is part of a nationwide expansion that has included relocating more than 500 facilities and adding 11 new hubs.
