Twin Falls man ordered to stand trial for UI rape

A Twin Falls man will face trial over the alleged rape of a University of Idaho freshman earlier this month in Moscow.

A Latah County judge found there was probable cause that 20-year-old Jesse Vierstra raped the 18-year-old woman, who testified during a preliminary hearing Thursday.

The alleged incident occurred in the early morning hours of Oct. 7 near the Sigma Chi fraternity house on Nez Perce Drive.

Vierstra is being held on a $125,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 29 in 2nd District Court.  If convicted, he could face a life sentence.
