LCSC women’s basketball team falls in opener

Sophomore point guard Brittaney Niebergall led all scorers with 19 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball team fell to Northwest Nazarene 81-58 last night in Nampa.

The Warriors were out-rebounded 48-26 and allowed NNU to collect 25 offensive rebounds which led to several second and third chance scoring opportunities.

Megan Hingston led the Crusaders with a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds in the win.

Junior college transfer Ornela Bacchini added 14 points and 7 rebounds for the Warriors.

Up next, LC will play an exhibition contest tomorrow afternoon against Boise State at Taco Bell Arena.

The first home action for the Warriors will be November 16th and 17th as part of the Twin Rivers Physical Therapy Tournament at the Activity Center.
