University of Idaho receives $3.3M donation

ui university of idahoThe University of Idaho has received a $3.3 million donation from a pair of Seattle philanthropists.

Tom Alberg and Judi Beck say they’re making the donation because of the quality experience their son has had so far at the school.

UI announced the donation includes $2 million to create an endowed faculty chairmanship in the College of Natural Resources; $1 million is being given to pay for two new graduate fellowships; another $225,000 will go to building a classroom at the school’s forest nursery in Moscow; and an endowed faculty excellence fund in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences will be created with $100,000.  (AP)
