Clarkston man arrested in Coeur d’Alene after police chase

A Clarkston man was arrested in northern Idaho Wednesday after leading police in a car pursuit in Coeur d’Alene.

According to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, 30-year-old Patrick Dalton was wanted for escape from community custody in Washington, and a felony failure to appear warrant out of Nez Perce County.

On Wednesday, he failed to stop for authorities at about 3:30 p.m. in the area of U.S. Highway 95 and West Canfield Avenue in the northern end of Coeur d’Alene. The vehicle pursuit went from northern Coeur d’Alene to downtown, and ended when Dalton crashed into a center median. He fled on foot but was tracked down by a K-9 unit and taken into custody.

In addition to the two felony warrants, Dalton was arrested on felony charges of suspicion of drug trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, and eluding.

Two passengers in Dalton’s car, both Spokane residents, were also taken into custody for alleged drug offenses.
