Nez Perce County Sheriff’s deputy fired following investigation into 2nd DUI arrest

A Nez Perce County sheriff’s deputy who was arrested on charges of DUI in January was fired by the sheriff’s office this week.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, 38-year-old Jay Colvin was terminated Thursday. Colvin had been on administrative leave from the sheriff’s office following his arrest on suspicion of a second DUI January 28th and was fired following the completion of an internal investigation. The internal investigation was done for violation of sheriff’s office policy and is independent of the pending court case.

Colvin faces a pretrial hearing on the charges Thursday. He has a previous DUI conviction from 2011.
