Orofino man dies from injuries suffered in fuel explosion

A 43-year-old Orofino man has died from injuries sustained in a fuel explosion last weekend.

According to the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office, John Gould died Tuesday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Gould was injured Sunday after he reportedly threw gasoline on a fire and the fuel exploded. The accident happened off of Freeman Creek Road near Orofino.

Gould was flown by Life Flight helicopter from the scene of the accident to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, and from there taken to the Seattle hospital Sunday night.
