UI women’s hoops team beats Utah State to make WAC final

Stacey Barr scored 26 points to lead the University of Idaho women’s basketball team to an 82-79 win over Utah State in the semifinals of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

UI’s Ali Forde had 10 points and 14 rebounds, while Alyssa Charlston chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds.   The Aggies’ Devyn Christensen hit 9 3-pointers and led all scores with 37 points.

The Vandals (16-15) advance to the WAC championship game, where they face the winner of Louisiana Tech/Seattle, with a shot at the NCAA tournament.
