3rd WSU beating suspect turns himself in to Pullman police

A third person sought in the beating of a Washington State University faculty member is in custody.

Pullman police say 22-year-old John “Matt” Cabanos-Soriano turned himself in early Friday morning at the Pullman Police Department. ¬†Authorities are still looking for another man, 22-year-old Robert Bean of Mukilteo.

The two are wanted for investigation of assault in the March 30 beating that injured WSU faculty member David Warner. Warner suffered severe head injuries, but his condition has been upgraded from critical to serious at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.

Two WSU students were previously arrested in the case.  (AP)
