Saturday is Free Fishing Day in Idaho and the Idaho Department of Fish and Game invites anglers of all ages, residents and non-residents alike, to celebrate the day by fishing anywhere in the state without a license.
Jen Bruns with the agency’s Clearwater Office says several events are scheduled at regional fisheries.
Bruns comments on Saturday’s activities:
Though fishing license requirements are suspended Saturday, all other rules, such as limits or tackle restrictions, remain in effect.
Free fishing day includes salmon; anglers don’t need a license or salmon permit, but they are still subject to all bag and possession limits.
