AUDIO: Independence Day Holiday travel to be slightly down this year

AAAThe American Automobile Association expects 40.8 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home during the Independence Day holiday – a slight decline of 0.8 percent from last year.

Dave Carlson with Idaho-AAA says the decline has more to do with the holiday landing on a Thursday than anything else.

Of all holiday travelers, 84-percent will do so by motor vehicle with an average distance traveled of 613 miles.
