After a somewhat surprising 26-8 campaign last year, the Warriors have been picked by the Frontier Conference coaches as the league favorite and are ranked 16th in the NAIA pre-season national poll. 2nd year head coach Jen Greeny says there is more pressure on the program to succeed this year, but most of it comes from within the team itself.
Head coach Jen Greeny comments
With nine returning players and a highly touted recruiting class, expectations are running high for a return trip to the NAIA National Tournament in November.

An electrical problem is being blamed for a fire reported late Monday night at a Lewis-Clark State College apartment.
The Lewiston Fire Department responded at 11 p.m. to a report of smoke at the College Place apartments in the 800 block of Fourth Street. The fire is believed to have started in the attic above a third-floor apartment, and ‘fire stops’ and sprinklers kept the flames confined to a small area.
No injuries were reported, but the building was evacuated for the night.

Asotin County residents voting in November’s general election will decide the fate of four tax-supported proposals.
County commissioners on Monday unanimously approved placing the four resolutions on the ballot, letting voters have their say on a sales tax increase, cemetery district, industrial park and emergency medical services levy.
Last week, commissioners approved the sales tax resolution to decide whether the tax should be increased by 0.2 percent in Asotin County to help fund the aquatic center. Also, it’s believed the establishment of a cemetery district would enable the Vineland Cemetery to be considered a public cemetery, which would allow it to use income from an endowment to pay bills.
The commissioners agreed to make the industrial park question an advisory ballot, asking whether the Port of Clarkston should acquire 120 acres of county-owned property west of Evans Road for an industrial park.
Finally, the EMS levy going before voters this fall is a one-year proposition that would fund Rescue One with over 373-thousand dollars, at approximately 55 cents per $1,000 of property valuation.
The Lewis-Clark State College women’s volleyball team is the overwhelming preseason favorite to win the Frontier Conference title this season, according to a vote of the conference coaches released on Monday.
The Warriors, who won both the conference regular season and tournament titles a year ago after being picked to finish sixth in the preseason coaches’ poll, received six of the eight first-place votes in the poll and finished with a total of 48 points. Westminster College of Utah received the other two votes from the coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own team, and finished second in the poll with 40 points.
The Warriors posted a 26-8 record a year ago, including a 12-2 mark in conference play. LCSC won the conference tournament and the Region I Tournament to earn a berth to the NAIA national tournament. LCSC was the No. 9 seed at nationals and finished with a 1-2 pool play record.
LCSC returns a solid nucleus from a year ago as it lost two seniors and one other starter, Cintia Alessi who chose to forego her final year of college eligibility and end her volleyball career. The Warriors return four regular starters and added a strong recruiting class for this season.
The Warriors kick off the season on August 22-23 in the Holiday Inn Express Tournament at the LCSC Activity Center.
LCSC will have 11 home matches this season, including four in the tournament along with its seven conference matches.
