The Lewis-Clark State baseball team will host Azusa Pacific in the best-of-three NAIA West Coast Super Regional series this week at Harris Field. The Region I champion Warriors are the top-seed in the 14 team Super Regional playoffs being played across the country.

Azusa is the #3 seed and qualified for the Super Regional round after sweeping the Region II tournament last week in southern California. LCSC Athletic Director Gary Picone says the school and the community are excited to host the post-season round which pits two of the nation’s best programs head-to-head Wednesday, Thursday and if necessary Saturday.

Gary Picone, LCSC AD, comments

The meeting between the Warriors and Cougars is a re-match of last year’s Super Regional played in southern California, and could be a prelude to a potential match-up in the upcoming World Series as both teams have already qualified for the national tournament.
