The Lewis-Clark State baseball team completed a season sweep over Gonzaga Monday night in Spokane, Washington. Junior right-hander Ryan Woods allowed an unearned run, while scattering five hits with 4 strikeouts over 6 innings of work in improving to 8-1 on the year.
Senior Justin Mace added 2.2 innings of scoreless relief as the Warriors beat the Zags 8-3.
Offensively, Lewiston senior Kyle Greene had two hits, including his team leading 29th double and 17th home run, and had three RBI, while sophomore second baseman Josh Ashenbrenner and senior outfielder Nic Benton had three hits apiece.
Greene’s double was his 29th of the season – tying him with former Warrior Chad Miltenburger for the most 2-base hits in a season. Up next, LC opens the best-of-three NAIA West Coast Super Regional series against Region II champion Azusa Pacific at Harris Field Wednesday night.
