A total of four members of the NAIA national champion Lewis-Clark State baseball team have been selected in the Major League Baseball First Year Amateur Player Draft. Lewiston’s Kyle Greene, the NAIA Player of the Year, was chosen by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 11th round and was the 348th overall pick.

The Warrior third baseman led LC in virtually every offensive category this past season including batting average, hits, doubles, home runs and runs batted in.

Junior pitcher Matt Fitts was drafted by the Oakland A’s in the 16th round and was the 484th overall pick. The right-hander went a perfect 13-0 on the mound this year and, if he signs as expected, will finish his two-year LC career with the highest winning percentage in program history.

Additionally, LCSC junior Blaine Hardy was taken by the Kansas City Royals in the 22nd round. The versatile left-hander went 8-1 on the mound and had 4 saves with a 2.48 ERA.

Warrior shortstop Brent Wyatt was drafted in the 26th round by the Detroit Tigers. The senior from central Washington was a highly touted all-around player having played the outfield, middle-infield and could also play catcher. This past season he hit .354, drove in 40 runs and stole a team leading 9 bases.
